    Job Description:

    MDA Director for Engineering (DE) Engineer applies engineering knowledge and processes to understand the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) and interpret missile defense engineering modeling results in terms of documented BMDS effectiveness metrics.  Should have working knowledge of the systems engineering process.. Must have Modeling, Simulation and Analyses experience. Uses Microsoft Office skills (specifically PowerPoint, Excel, and Word), and is willing to learn other programs as needed.  Should have a basic understanding of Department of Defense (DoD) classification guidelines.  This Engineer is capable of working independently or supporting teams to solve missile defense related problems, and capable of receiving daily supervision and direction, as dictated by the tasking/situation, in a dynamic environment.  This engineer will also provide engineering support to BMDS initiatives involving Combatant Commands (EUCOM, PACOM, STRATCOM etc.), Allies, and Friends.


    Specific Duties include:

    • Applying system engineering knowledge and processes to analyze Ballistic Missile Defense System problems
    • Implementing the MDA Engineering format for all briefings and papers in order to provide a continuous structured process for staffing, coordination, review, and approval of DE QRT briefings and related products
    • Providing research for writing, editing, and proofreading of technical data for MDA Engineering managers/contractors in order to improve technical documents and briefings using both Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
    • Assist in the management and execution of incoming Agency tasking from the Combatant Commands and other MDA organizations
    • Manage ongoing analysis work in support of RFAs, RFIs, and international partners
    • Assist the government to determine COAs to resolve warfighter needs.
    • Develop technical inputs to support Congressional inquiries on BMD programs.
    • Assist in the development of schedules, study plans, and other program management documentation to support engineering activities.
    • Supporting international cooperative activities

    New Hire Sucess Factors:

    • 30 days Candidate will successfully complete in-processing of all secure related activities resulting in access to AEgis and Government resources as required and become familiar with various projects he/she will support.
    • 60 days Candidate will become familiar with project processes, procedures, key issues/needs. Become certified on all systems/procedures req'd to support the program or identify a certification schedule
    • 90 days Candidate will be fully integrated within the MDA/DEW group providing direct customer support. 




    • BS degree or higher in Engineering or an engineering-related discipline and 5+ years of experience
    • Department of Defense SECRET clearance
    • Modeling, Simulation and Analyses experience
    • Knowledge of Ballistic Missile Defense Systems
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Experience with productivity applications including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook
    • Ability to perform in a high intensity, quick reaction environment


    • Experience working systems engineering related activities
    • Experience working in a high-paced, dynamic DoD program office environment
