    Responsibilities

    AEgis is seeking a MDA HWIL Systems Administrator to support the MDA Engineering Directorate Modeling & Simulation Office on the Single Stimulation Framework (SSF) & Objective Simulation Framework (OSF) Hardware Team. Duties include operations, maintenance, and support of the current framework hardware fleet of SSF Interface Units (SIU) and assembly, installation, and deployment of new SIU’s.  (SIU’s consist of Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers, Cisco network switches, routers, and security appliances, RAID storage arrays, LTO tape drives, UPS units, and other supporting hardware.)  This includes assembly of hardware and installation of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software, remote management and support of SIU’s distributed over classified networks, and CONUS and OCONUS travel to install and upgrade SIU hardware and support MDA exercises and events.  Duties also include assistance with engineering drawings of system and network configurations and site installation diagrams, writing detailed work instructions and procedures, development of unique hardware configurations for special projects, and assistance with management of inventory of hardware systems.

     

    New Hire Success Factors:

    30 days - Integrated with hardware team, accounts and badging setup, has begun shadow training with team

     

    60 days - Government customer is comfortable with level of effort and knowledge, has begun executing system administration function on their own

     

    90 days - Is capable of assembling, installing, and deploying hardware and COTS with minimal supervision and is capable of handling and solving support cases on their own.

    Qualifications

    • Candidate should have at least 7 years of Linux or Unix system administration experience and hardware development, support, and sustainment.
    • Candidate is required to have an Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II certification and a CE cert in Linux. Acceptable Linux certifications are CompTIA Linux+, Redhat (RHCSA, RHCE, or equivalent), and LPIC-1
    • Applicant should have a BS in Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or a related discipline.
    • Candidate should have experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities including working in partnership with IA/Cyber Security, evaluating and mitigating security risks via monitoring vulnerability alerts (IAVA's), security scanning, and installing STIG scripts and system patches and updates.
    • The candidate must have good interpersonal skills and strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • The candidate must be able to work both independently with little supervision and within a team environment.
    • The candidate must possess and maintain a minimum of a SECRET security clearance and have a valid US Passport.

     

    Additional desired qualifications:

    • Linux/UNIX shell scripting experience.
    • Knowledge and experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting computer and network hardware and peripherals.
    • In-depth knowledge and experience with TCP/IP networking, firewalling, and network troubleshooting.
    • Experience with VMware vSphere or other virtualization technology.
    • Cisco switch, router and security appliance network administration.
    • Must be able to travel 15-30%
