    Perform as the technical expert with thorough understanding of various directed energy (DE) lines of business and research. Provides inputs to AEgis’ broad strategic DE opportunities and contributes to them.  Develops innovative problem-solving approaches to enhance organizational capabilities and uses peer network to expand technical capabilities and identify new research opportunities.  Creates opportunities to enhance technical methodology or content through expansion of existing, or development of, new corporate technical capabilities.  Responsible for extending DE-related technology into new application areas and contributing to or leading major intellectual development activities.  Ideal candidate brings established distinguishing technical expertise; has expert knowledge of principles, practices and procedures in one or more fields of DE specialization; and is recognized as a fully competent professional, independent researcher. 



    New Employee Success Factors:

    • 30 days - Candidate will successfully complete in-processing of all secure related activities resulting in access to AEgis and Government resources as required and become familiar with various projects he/she will support.
    • 60 days - Candidate will become familiar with project processes, precedures, key issues/needs/gags. Identify solutions to mitigate risk/impact. Become certified on all systems/procedures req'd to support the program or identify a certification schedule
    • 90 days - Candidate will respond proactively in addressing program needs/gaps. Candidate will develop a list of program support tasks including scope/schedule and brief the AEgis PM for concurrence.



    • Experience with the development of high energy laser (HEL) and high power electromagnetic (HPEM) concepts and systems.
    • Expertise with organizing and conducting research and development efforts.
    • Experience in system design, development, prototyping, demonstrations, experimentation, and testing are all applicable
    • Current DoD security clearance or ability to obtain a clearance required.
    • Education/experience required:  Professional science or engineering post-graduate degree with 10+ years of relevant DE-related experience or 20+ years relevant DE-related experience.
