    Support the MDA Engineering Directorate Modeling & Simulation Office in the planning, preparation, and execution of the Objective Simulation Framework in support of MDA Flight Tests.  FT phases supported include System Pre-Mission Test (pre-mission risk reduction; MDA/DT Mission Execution Team (MET) CONOPS training; Range Support test buildup activities; Warfighter Training; and, System Post-Flight Reconstruction (SPFR) testing.

    Duties include:

    • Participate in all MDA planning and coordination meetings. Representing MDA/ESP for OSF capabilities, limitations, and new requirements; and, MDA/ESI for OSF event scheduling, test case development requirements, OSF test readiness, and OSF test execution. Attendance includes presentation of OSF activities, schedule, and readiness as necessary. Work Groups/meetings include:
      • MDA/DT test Planning, Readiness, and Execution Reviews
      • MDA/EET Joint Analysis Team (JAT)
      • MDA/EET Scenario Planning Meeting
      • MDA/DTD Signature Working Group
      • MDA/DTF Mission Execution Team WG (METWG)
      • DTG Event Working Group (EWG)
      • DE Mission Readiness WG (for OSF Risk
      • MDA/EEV SPFR meetings
      • BMDS Element planning meetings requiring OSF support
    • Review all Flight Test planning documentation, with focus on OSF requirements, capabilities and limitations, scheduling, and ability to support. Primary documents:
      • Test Objective Memorandum (TOM)
      • JAT Data Analysis Plan (DAP)
      • Test Case Description Document (TCDD)
      • Test Case Design Matrix (TDDM)
      • Meetings and FT Review read-ahead material
    • Coordinate OSF test support requirements among all ESP and ESI Functional Areas:
      • ESP OSF Development Lead: All OSF limitations affecting Flight Test support; and, required OSF enhancements to meet new requirements.
      • OSF Integration Test Lead/Test Conductor: OSF test requirements and execution schedule for HWIL lab testing.
      • Test Case Development Team: All test case related requirements, data input needs, and development timelines.  Includes SPMT, CONOPS, Range Buildup, and WF Training.
      • Integration Team: OSF SW configuration and test case integration.  And, OSF Test Director/Assistant for Range Buildup.
      • HW Team: OSF HW/operating system, and network readiness.
      • Configuration Management: OSF SW deliveries, test case deliveries, and Certification Data Plan (CDP) development.
      • Data Management: Collection and archival of OSF run data.
      • Analysis Team: Event Architecture Certification analysis to support determination of OSF readiness to support formal pre- and post-mission testing.
      • Gold Team: Analysis for identification, definition, root-cause determination, and resolution of OSF anomalies.
    • Maintain ESI and ESP Management awareness of all planning activities, and issues related to ESI/ESP roles and responsibilities. Primary means for keeping Management informed:
      • Face-to-face discussions or email on key activities and issues
      • Written meeting summaries of key information
      • Weekly Activity Report (WAR)
      • ESI and ESP Staff Calls
      • ESP Technical Action Group (TAG)
      • Event After Action Report (AAR)


    Familiar with real-time distributed simulation infrastructures; BMDS Element configurations and operations; and, DOD Operational Testing (OT) and Development Testing (DT). Coordination and scheduling of test resources to support DoD/MDA System-level test events. Consolidation of simulation framework support requirements from BMDS stakeholders; and, translation of those requirements into implementation strategies, schedules, and test plans. Candidate must be a self-starter capable of working with minimal direction, and experienced in staff coordination; have strong interpersonal and analytical skills to work as a team player; and, able to work comfortably and effectively with team members as well as Element contacts, test stakeholders and other DOD contractors. This position may require some travel to coordinate/monitor test support, support technical interchange meetings, and test coordination and planning meetings.


    • Have a good understanding of overall BMDS infrastructure to include Element capabilities.
    • Has led testing events.
    • Must have an active clearance.
    • 10-20 yrs + (BS) OR equivalent years of experience
