Provide test support for research and development (R&D) activities associated with prototype designs and upgrades to programs. This includes test planning, test documentation and field support for unique Directed Energy (DE) R&D test projects requiring adaptation of and/or compromise with standard techniques, methods and criteria fundamentally different from conventional test procedures. Prepare test plans along with presentations for test reviews (i.e., kick-off meetings, technical review boards, test readiness reviews). Assist RDMT obtain test articles and equipment for data collection during complex operations involved in the preparation of outdoor test activities. Provide technical analyses, evaluations and recommendations from test results. Have working skills executing tests and knowledge of DE technologies to enable test conduct. Provide technical engineering options related to test instrumentation; able to define accuracy and limitations of resources; and able to formulate test configuration/scenarios for best approach to data collection to meet test objectives. Responsible for personal safety and security and enables test site safety for personnel and equipment. Act as the information source/advisor for range coordinator, mission execution, and recovery of assets as required. Professional engineering degree from an accredited school of engineering or Successfully passed the Engineer-in-Training exam or Associates degree or completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in physical sciences/math/engineering and 5 years relevant experience or 15 years relevant experience.
