    Responsibilities

    Performs a variety of complex underwater acoustic modeling tasks to include the study and elucidation of underwater acoustic phenomenon, development of propagation algorithms and describing code implementation.  AEgis has a strong heritage of mentoring and the successful candidate for this position will be able to mentor junior scientists in underwater acoustics.

     

    New Employee Success Factors:

    • 30 days: Onboard and beginning to work with current underwater acoustics staff.
    • 60 days:  Successful implementation of initial 3-D propagation algorithms.
    • 90 days:  Successful demonstrate of substantive 3-D propagation capability in CASS/GRaB.

    Qualifications

    15+ years’ experience in underwater acoustic modeling.  Deep familiarity with medium and high-frequency acoustic propagation, reverberation, boundary effects, etc.  Experience with Navy’s CASS/GRaB model including algorithms and source code.  Experience publishing original research.  Able to communicate clearly to peers and leadership.  Able to guide/mentor staff.  This position is a Part Time / On-Call Position.
