AEgis is seeking Engineers to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Directorate for System Verification (EEV), provide verification and validation (V&V) analysis of threat models used in digital and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) ground test stimulation architectures. Candidate will examine threat model V&V evidence provided by MDA Threat Engineering (EIT), the Modeling and Simulation (M&S) stimulation framework developer (MDA/DES), and Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) elements to provide analyses/assessments/recommendations on sufficiency for accreditation of intended uses in Integrated, Distributed, and Digital ground test events. Support for various technical interchange meetings (TIMs) with test stakeholders to include threat model developers, test framework developers, BMDS element representatives, BMDS Operational Test Agency (OTA) representatives, and the general M&S community. Candidate should be able to collect, organize, and analyze threat data to summarize findings and develop recommendations to support the threat model V&V effort.
Day-to-Day Duties: Perform V&V analysis of threat models based on key performance parameters and acceptability criteria established by the BMDS OTA. Candidate will examine threat model V&V evidence contained in MDA EIT reports to evaluate how well the models reflect Intelligence Community (IC) assessments. He/she will also analyze the implementation of threat model signatures (i.e., RCS, EO/IR, & plume) and kinematics (i.e., trajectory, dynamics) across all interfaces within the ground test stimulation framework. In addition, he/she will work with the BMDS elements to obtain/assess V&V evidence of how threat scene stimulation data is consumed, analyzing the continuity of threat data from IC specification to tactical software injection. Participation in various TIMs, such as the Threat Systems Working Group (TSWG), is expected, as well as periodic coordination with the BMDS OTA. Develop technical memoranda, reports, and briefings to detail the analysis, findings, limitations and caveats of the threat M&S. Threat models to be evaluated include long-range, intermediate-range, medium-range, and short-range missile systems.
15+ years of experience working with threat missile systems, to include analysis of kinematic performance and RF / optical signature phenomenology. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Demonstrated ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision and willingness to work with / mentor junior professionals. Expertise with the modeling of narrowband and wideband RCS is highly preferred. Knowledge of standard V&V processes and procedures is desired.
