Responsibilities

Software Developer/Programmer responsible for leading the design, development testing and project management of one or more key sub-system in a new control system for an accelerator used to generate x-rays in support of Sandia National Laboratories’ core mission.  The effort will include requirements development, process flow design, user interface specification, programming, simulation testing, implementation and project management of one of several sub-systems under development.  The candidate will work on a team comprised of AEgis and Sandia personnel.  The solution architecture will consist of National Instruments FPGA based cRIO hardware, programmed with LabVIEW 2016, working with a web-based operator user interface. Software and hardware testing will be completed utilizing LabVIEW 2016 and TestStand. Testing will simulate hardware functionality of interfacing system with a focus on error injection. The project will be a multi-year effort starting with design and ending with commissioning, to include documentation and operator training.          

 

New Hire Success Factors: 

  • 30 days Complete necessary training for Sandia email and physical access.
  • 60 days Attend weekly status meeting with Sandia SME(s). Prepare weekly status reports utilizing the AEgis template.
  • 120 days Complete process flow chart review and approval process. Complete required documentation and review with the customer.

Qualifications

 

B.S in relevant technical/computer science and minimum 8 years working experience

Expertise in LabVIEW and automated control and measurement systems

Expertise in National Instruments hardware platforms

Experience object oriented and text based programming languages, NI TestStand, and MS Office

Experience managing team-based projects and working in collaborative environment
