Responsibilities

AEgis is seeking a .Net Web Developer with an active secret clearance to provide software engineering development support to enhance the Joint Event Support Tool (JEST) and related enterprise environment.  Works as a software developer with the AMRDEC team of Government, SETA, and development contractor engineers to develop operational software for JEST and explore potential improvements to the system.  Serves as the primary developer of software ensuring requirements are designed into functions, coded, tested and integrated into the operational environment.  Serves as the practical lead developer for web-based enterprise software business systems 

Qualifications

Desired Skills:

  • Ability to work unsupervised in defined Agile development paradigm
  • Develop major enhancements to existing or new products related to the AMRDEC customer base
  • Utilize diagnostic skills to find and resolve underlying causes of issues with the software products and their intended functionality; Develop intelligent workarounds when a full fix is not feasible
  • Research solutions and provide alternatives for product development needs
  • Actively research solutions for developing new products and refactoring and supporting existing software
  • Experience with MBSE tools (e.g. Sparx Enterprise Architect (EA), IBM Rhapsody, Magic Draw) integrated with requirements management tools (e.g. DOORs) and Software Configuration Management (SCM) tools (e.g. SVN, Clearcase)

BA/BS Degree(s) in:

  • --- Engineering, Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Science
  • -------If applicant has good software coding skills, the following are also acceptable: Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering
  • Secret security clearance that has been active within the last 2 years
  • 5+ years of experience with C#, .NET, Managed Extensibility Framework (MEF) 
  • Understanding of database design and database query languages
  • Experienced in building advanced controls for web applications (Telerik preferred)
  • Creative thinking, problem solving, analytical thinking, and out-of-the-box thinking
  • Ability to work with a diverse team of geographically separated engineers with differing perspectives
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to non-technical personnel and personnel not trained in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Energetic, motivated, self-starting
  • Fast learner of new technologies and the ability to rapidly implement them
  • Ability to troubleshoot and generate software patches to fix immediate needs as identified by AMRDEC’s customer community
  • Familiar with software source control paradigms such as GIT or Team Foundation Version Control
  • Comfortable working in a Kanban or Agile software development team (leveraging JIRA)
  • Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) experience
