Responsibilities

The AEgis Technologies Group is seeking a motivated individual to join our Corporate Information Technologies Department in an exciting new roll to serve as a mid-level, to senior level, Systems Administrator. 

 

The successful candidate will play a major role in all aspects of maintaining the AEgis Information Technologies Infrastructure with initial primary focus on physical Server hardware, software, systems automation, vulnerability management, and Microsoft Active Directory Services.  Physical server hardware maintenance will include, but is not limited to OS installation, monitoring, troubleshooting, diagnostics, updating OS and firmware.  Systems automation efforts will utilize AEgis provided tools to develop automation scripts to include, but not limited to, the scripting of; OS image installation, 3rd party software installation, 3rd party patching installations, security settings, and other as applicable.  Vulnerability management will include utilizing AEgis provided tools to monitor and identify new vulnerabilities.  Candidate will be responsible for using vulnerability data to develop, and test, remediation scripts as applicable and coordinate remediation execution, and verification, with designated POC.  Candidate will also be responsible for maintaining all aspects of Microsoft Active Directory Services utilizing standard Microsoft tools and supported technologies including, but not limited to, ADUC, DNS, DHCP, GPO, ect.

The position will also involve very strong secondary focus in all remaining areas of the Data Center to include, but not limited to, supporting the following technologies: VMware, vCenter, Antivirus, SSL/VPN, Switches, Firewalls, and Web Filtering. 

 

The AEgis IT departments’ primary focus is excellent customer support for our user base, so candidates must possess exemplary customer care traits and great communications skills.

 

Success Factors (Success factors are simply the results we want an individual to deliver, in order to consider them a successful hire):

  • 30 days Success Factors: Conceptualize team cohesion.  Become familiar with AEgis IT Infrastructure and establish a strong understanding of Nessus SecurityCenter, Dell KACE Applications, and Dell Hardware in use.
  • 60 days Success Factors: Demonstrated integration within team cohesion.  Complete understanding of AEgis IT Infrastructure and ability to semi-independently manage AD using Microsoft tools (ADUC, DNS, DHCP, GPO, ect).  Recognized ability to semi-independently oversee tactical execution of vulnerability remediation using scripting automation, manual intervention, or a combination of AEgis provided tools.  Demonstrated ability to manage Server Hardware.
  • 90 days Success Factors: Promoter of team cohesion.  Ability to independently oversee tactical execution of vulnerability remediation using AEgis provided tools and provide weekly status reports to management.  Recognized ability to independently manage AEgis AD.  Proven ability to consistently generate high standards of excellence in all tasks.  Establish desire, and ability, to consistently support AEgis IT departments’ quest for standardization.  Display desire, and ability, to learn other industry standard technologies used by AEgis IT to acquire additional responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems (or related field) and/or 5+ years of equivalent experience.
  • IT Certifications: A+, Network+, Security+, MCSE, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience scripting Operating System installations, software installations, patch installations in live production environment.
  • Other scripting experience.
  • Experience with Vulnerability Scanning / Remediation Management.
  • Backup and recovery experience.
  • Experience supporting LAN, WAN, network segments, internet, and intranet.
  • Experience administering servers, routers, switches and firewalls.
  • Experience administering VMware virtual environment.
  • Knowledge of Storage Area Network is a plus.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Experience interfacing with help desk customers.
  • Must be self-motivated and willing to take ownership of issues.
  • Must be able to produce, and help maintain, technical HBM (Hit by Meteor) documentation for other team members.
