Responsibilities

 

Supports the Chief of Program Control and primarily in the budget analysis arena. 

 

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating and maintaining the customer’s Control Ledgers, which are currently implemented as a complex multi-tabbed and interlinked MS Excel spreadsheet
  • Critical thinking
  • Creating and tracking annual Spend Plans
  • Monitoring and managing of funds received via DoD funding authorization process
  • Developing, analyzing and supporting the execution of customer’s Fiscal Year (FY) funding
  • Evaluating and interpreting budget data
  • Recording and tracking billing data
  • Preparing financial reports
  • Supporting the preparation of financial briefings

Success Factor:

30 days -Independently maintain the Organization's Control Ledgers

60 days -Independently prepare the Weekly Execution Status Report (WESR)

90 days -Able to prepare the Monthly Execution Review Briefing Charts

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5-10+ yrs (BS) OR equivalent years of experience
  • Secret security clearance that has been active within the last 2 years
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Creative thinking, problem solving, analytical thinking, and out-of-the-box thinking
  • Energetic, motivated, positive attitude, diligent, self-starter
  • Must be able to effectively work both in teams and alone as appropriate for each assigned task
  • Proficiency in and working knowledge of the following Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Financial Management experience and preferably over multiple projects at the same time
  • Must have a professional demeanor
  • Must have the aptitude to learn about new programs and projects from a Financial Management perspective
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality about sensitive information and only share it with the appropriate people at the appropriate time
  • Must have good listening skills
  • Must be willing to execute lawful leadership directions/decisions even when you think other approaches would be better or more efficient
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Must communicate effectively with leadership and team members
  • Must be able to adapt to a changing environment

 

Desired:

  • Strongly desired: experience dealing with a wide array of personalities
  • BA/BS in Finance, Management, Economics, or other relevant field 
  • 1 to 7+ years of experience in budget analysis, financial management or other relevant field
  • Ability to build Microsoft Access Databases
  • Prior Government experience or experience supporting Government customers
